Beach Buddies

Discovering Delray Beach to Marina del Rey with "Beach Buddies" Marty & Swinton

The Delray Beach Marketing Cooperative is pleased to announce our new partnership with The Marina del Rey Convention & Visitors Bureau in Marina del Rey, California! Together, we're launching a cross promotion between our coastal towns that will showcase each area's activities, attractions, dining, hotels & more. The "Beach Buddies" initiative also highlights our accessibility to travelers with close proximity to major airports including Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), West Palm Beach International (PBI) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL).

It's here! Happy 50th Birthday to our friends in Marina del Rey! We're thrilled for this special weekend & look forward to celebrating with all of you! For event details, including dining deals, concert, fireworks, historic harbor tours & more, check out the EVENT listing on this FB page or go to www.mdr50.com.

Marty's Scoop

on Marina del Rey, CA

Best Way to Get Around:

Wave down or call the Delray Downtowner, Delray Beach's free eco-friendly golf-cart service! During the summer, the Marina del Rey Waterbus is the hottest ticket in town. It's a only $1 to ride!
Best Place for Brunch: Breakast with a view! Check out Caffe Luna Rosa's brunch with a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. The buffett brunch at Whiskey Red's (read: tons of food, endless champagne & sunny, Marina views from their huge patio).
Best Place to Grab a Beer: Just west on Atlantic Avenue is Delray Beach's very own Saltwater Brewery.  More than a craft brewing company; it’s a way of life.   On game day, the locals flock (hehe) to the Tavern at Tony P's. It's a beer lovers heaven.
Best Place to Watch the Sunrise / Sunset: The North Catamarans...  Sunset at the North Jetty is magical. Make sure to bring your camera!
Best Holiday Event: The Delray Beach 100ft. Christmas Tree is one of my favorites! Complete with Santa landing in a helicopter to light the magical Tree!  The Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade is a fabulous tradition. I especially love flying over the twinkling lights.
Best Place for Live Tunes: I love getting down at Johnny Brown's or Bull Bar - where live music is a way of life! I like to shake my tail feather at the weekend concerts at Fisherman's Village. From salsa, to country, to jazz...It's jamming year-round!
Best Place to Stand Up Paddle (SUP): The Saltfly has everything I need to hit the open water, they'll even deliver the board to you!  Marina (Mother's) Beach. The water is so calm making it a great place to learn how to SUP or try a yoga paddleboard class. I mean, not to brag or anything, but did you see my posture in the photo above?
Best Views: Beachfront at the Delray Beach Marriott Flying the sky with Marina del Rey Parasailing
Best Kept Secret: We are less than an hour away from 3 International Airports! (PBIA, FLL, MIA)
The Marina's close proximity to LAX (only 4 miles away) makes it easily accesible to visitors. We're also a quick walk or bike ride to our world-famous neighbor, Venice Beach!
Swinton:
All-Time Favorite: Atlantic Ave shells out all the fun you can handle! For obvious reasons, Marina del Rey Sportfishing. Dinner time!
