First Night is for Fun and Delray Beach proves it again by throwing the best family friendly party in South Florida.  From toddlers to teens, First Night 2016 offers fun and games for the whole family on New Year’s Eve in downtown Delray Beach. Events take place around Old School Square Park, the 100ft. Christmas Tree & the Delray Beach Tennis Center from 5pm-12am.

Fireworks will launch from the Tennis Center at 9pm and again at midnight!

Purchase First Night wristbands or buttons which provide unlimited access to various activities! Wristbands are $10 in advance and $15 on December 31, Buttons are $15 in advance and $20 on December 31st.  Both Wristbands & Buttons serve addmittance to activities. Children under 3 are admitted to First Night for free. Activities will run 5pm-12am.

Wristbands & buttons will be available for purchase through December 31st.Locations to buy wristbands:

  • Delray Beach City Hall, Monday-Friday (8am-5pm)- Credit Cards Accepted
  • The Famous 100ft. Christmas Tree Gift Shop - Credit Cards accepted 
    • Sunday- Friday 1pm-9pm
    • New Year's Eve - 10am - 9pm

STREET CLOSURES & PARKING FOR FIRST NIGHT - DECEMBER 31 - 

The annual celebration will offer the same family fun, but the layout of the event has changed. Atlantic Avenue will not be closed to traffic. The year’s event event will stretch from Old School Square Park through Swinton and NW 1st Avenue (which will be closed to traffic) and into the Tennis Center.
 
The following road closures will be in effect beginning at 2pm on December 31:
 
 - Swinton Avenue will be closed from Atlantic Avenue to NE 1st Street
 - NW 1st Avenue will be closed from Atlantic Avenue to NE 1st Street
  

PLEASE NOTE:  On December 31, parking will be prohibited in the 100 block of Atlantic Avenue (both sides) from 4pm to 2am.  Any vehicles parked in this area after 4pm will be towed to City Hall parking lot.   

PARKING GARAGE FACILITIES

A $5 fee per vehicle will be charged at the following public parking garages on December 31:    

  • Robert Federspiel Parking Garage, 22 SE 1st Avenue - beginning at 3pm
  • Old School Square Parking Garage, 95 NE 1st Avenue - beginning at 3pm
  • City Hall North Parking Lot, 100 NW 1st Avenue - beginning at 4pm
  • South County Courthouse Parking Garage, 65 SW 2nd Avenue - beginning at 4pm

Parking attendants accept cash only, upon entry, and will monitor the parking facilities until the posted closing times.
